Company History

At the beginning of 2001, Oceans-ESU Limited was formed - a merger of a number of associated organizations. These included:-

Environmental Services Unit Ltd. (ESU)

ESU was set up in 1986, an international environmental consultancy working on pioneering projects and specialising in the field of contaminated land remediation. It also incorporated our asbestos management service.

Oceans Environmental Engineering Ltd. (OEEL)

Specialists in the worldwide design, construction and management of soil-based reed bed technology and constructed wetlands to treat industrial, agricultural and domestic waste water and effluents. OEEL was formed in 1991 and has developed and worked on over 500 reed beds worldwide.

Oceans Integrated Technologies Ltd. (OIT)

OIT specialised in research & development of new applications for environmentally friendly technologies. By forging partnerships with similar companies around the world, OIT worked to unite technologies sharing the same ethos of sustainability.

OIT worked to improve environmental awareness and to encourage the implementation of appropriate technologies, that can provide long-term solutions at no excessive cost. For example, it is often possible to recover waste products from water and to use the purified effluent for agriculture, landscaping or cooling processes.

Several key projects were initiated by OIT, including work with Petroleum Development Oman and the Reed Tubs Project investigating the economic viability of installing small, portable, containerised reed bed systems for effluent treatment.
