Reed Bed Design
Oceans-ESU offer the complete design package aimed at providing you with the most appropriate and effective treatment wetland system. With over 15 years of experience in the constructed wetland business, our team can draw on an unparalleled level of expertise and understanding of the technology and its request.

We will ensure that all aspects of the feasibility of this technology are examined, so that you can be certain that you're investing in a solution that truly meets your requirements. Our experienced CAD team and engineers will produce construction drawings, work specifications, and bills of materials of the highest quality to meet all modern civil engineering standards.

Our design team includes a range of highly qualified scientists and engineers from the UK and abroad, with a variety of specialist backgrounds including:
- Process chemistry
- Analytical chemistry
- Biology
- Ecology
- Botany
- Microbiology
- Soil science
- Socio-economics
- Public health engineering
- Computer aided design
The team members work together to provide a holistic approach to final system design. Although the system appears simple at first sight, the ecology - and hence the design - is complex. We believe a strong inter-disciplinary team approach brings the most complete understanding of both the technology of soil based reed bed treatment systems and their applications in the modern world. Our range of work includes several challenging and innovative research and development projects.

Our long involvement in promoting soil-based reed bed technology in the UK means we know the restraints and opportunities of the domestic market. We have also built up a strong understanding of what customers are looking for from wetland treatment technology.
It is crucial that the system is well attended during the commissioning period, and we have a dedicated team of experienced personnel who undertake this process.
Operations and Maintenance
Ongoing technical support is important to ensure the efficiency of reed bed treatment systems, but they do not require the level of input of other conventional treatment technologies. Oceans-ESU has technical staff who undertake operations and maintenance contracts for a number of clients both in the UK and internationally.

It's not only our own reed beds that we supervise. Our team has been called upon to trouble-shoot and reform failing reed bed systems installed by others.

We provide full-time site maintenance staff for organizations such as Air Products, Corus (formerly British Steel), and BHP in Australia. A service such as this on a large-scale installation allows the client peace of mind and consistency in achieving effluent discharge targets.
